I Am a Very Small Fish in a Big, Massive, Confusing Ocean.

When I was in school, I used to feel quite important.

My social circle was quite small and I was confident that I was going to achieve all of my goals and everything was going to go swimmingly.

I was essentially was a big fish in a small pond.

However, as I have moved up through the educational system, I have gradually come to realise that this is not the case.

It turns out that I am a teeny tiny fish in a significantly larger body of water.

  1. Love it, rad post! This is the Marianas Trench part of your trajectory? Jealous though. I wished I had had the platforms one has today, social media, etc back when I was in school (when Macs were steam driven), and pre-burdened with student loan which haha, along with an odorous Chesterfield, followed me into my marriage. My drawings were relegated to a 3-ring binder, and shown to friends and family, like early era Rembrandts. As it was, when I was in art school, Macs, and the like, were only being introduced into the curriculum. I was forced to add to my loans by attending various technical colleges whose focus was on digital arts.

Wherever you go in life, keep drawing! It has always been a through-line in my life, through thick and thin. It is both an escape AND cathartic. At least you are leaving behind something, unlike when you binge-watch Netflix. (crumbs on the settee?)
